About the Office of the Provost and Vice President
The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs coordinates faculty recruitment, academic program development and review, student success programs, Commencement, research and economic development, international and global initiatives, and community outreach and service.
Academic Affairs Mission and VisionMeet the Provost and Vice President
Provost Christopher J. Olsen, PhD, is the Chief Academic Officer and Vice President of Academic Affairs for Indiana State University, providing primary administrative leadership, direction, and evaluation for all academic activities and faculty affairs of the University. The Provost collaborates with the President in setting overall academic priorities for the University. Reviewing the University’s Strategic Plan, the Provost works closely with the Vice President of Student Affairs to expand student pathways and access to higher education and increase student success and completion.
The Provost also oversees the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management to help guide the University’s recruitment and retention efforts. The Provost maintains a close working relationship with the leadership of the University Faculty Senate. The Provost is also the chairperson of the Commencement Committee.
